Patriots Pro Bowl guard Brian Waters signed a two-year contract before the 2011 season, but he’s not sure he wants to continue playing.

Waters said after the Super Bowl that he will take 2-3 weeks to make a decision about his future, according to Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Globe.

New England would love to have Waters back. He provided veteran leadership and high quality play all year. He arguably outplayed Logan Mankins this year.

Waters turns 35 years old this month. He was playing at such a high level, we suspect he’ll choose to return once the emotion of Sunday night’s loss subsides a little.
