The draftniks are in agreement: Alabama safety Mark Barron looks like the top player at his position in the upcoming draft.

The projected first round pick will not be able to show off his stuff at the Combine in two weeks, however, because of double hernia surgery. Tony Pauline of SI.com and DraftInsider.net reports that Barron is expected to miss eight weeks at most from the time the surgery occurred.

Using that timeline, it sounds like Barron’s camp is confident he’ll be able to work out sometime before the Draft. Barron went No. 30 in Silva’s first mock draft of the year over at Rotoworld.
