Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul has decided not to accept an offer to step into the professional wrestling ring.

Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com reports that Pierre-Paul will not be appearing Monday night for TNA Wrestling, despite TNA and Spike TV thinking they had a deal done for Pierre-Paul to confront pro wrestler (and Olympic gold medalist) Kurt Angle at an event in Orlando.

Pierre-Paul has apparently decided that he’s more interested in R&R than TNA.

“He declined because he is exhausted,” Robert Bailey, the president of Rosenhaus Sports, told FOXSports.com.

This isn’t the first time TNA has attempted to get some NFL-related publicity. Last year Jets linebacker Bart Scott went at it with Angle on a TNA show, and Adam “Pacman” Jones was a TNA tag-team champion during his 2007 suspension from the NFL. TNA also once offered an opportunity for Marvin Lewis and Chad Ochocinco to settle their differences in a steel cage.
