NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell currently makes roughly $10 million per year. Daniel Kaplan of SportsBusiness Journal reports that, by the end of Goodell’s new deal, he’ll make roughly two times that amount.

And if you think that $20 million per year will be a lot by 2019, keep in mind that baseball’s commissioner, Bud Selig, already gets that much.

“If your compare [Goodell] to any of the other commissioners in other sports, we think he would rank very high in that group, and he needs to be compensated on that basis,” Falcons owner Arthur Blank told Kaplan.

Still, it’s a lot of money. And Goodell has earned it. Even if it’s safe to predict that there will be at least 70 comments eventually posted below complaining about Goodell and/or his salary.
