Mark Sanchez knows the way to Santonio Holmes’ heart

Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez’s first tweet since the Jets’ regular season meltdown was a weird one.

santonio10 you want to be my Valentine?” Sanchez wrote to his temperamental wide receiver Santonio Holmes, complete with the picture to the right.

Cookies are nice, but Holmes would probably prefer a well-thrown deep ball.

  1. Being a Jet Season Ticket Holder. I Agree with Holmes… SANCHEZ Just Throw The Damn Ball.
Do You see Brees hold the ball more than 2 seconds… Let your Receivers make a Play … Be The Ball…

  2. The fuse on that time bomb is burning brighter and faster everyday. Jets better trade one of them before it blows up the locker room.

There’s going to be players that take their QB’s side, some that take Santonio’s side, some that will stay out of it. Either way, that offense will not be on the same page.

  3. Maybe Mark Sanchez was just trying to make a joke. And just like his passes it went over everyone’s head.

“As a season ticket holder I agree with holmes” and that my friends is what is wrong with many jet fans.Santurdio quit on his team and whether you like your QB or not there are still 51 other players that are counting on you.

I usually enjoy bashing the jets ( its so easy!) but it is not Sanchez who should be putting out the olive branch but the POS Holmes that owes the entire team an apology.

With that said, it looks like its time to book plans for the 44th anniversary jet fans!

  5. So I googled this guy and it turns out he’s the quarterback of some team called “The New York Jets.” When did this happen? I thought expansion teams, if any, would be placed in London.

  6. Sanchito was probably wearing his skin tight GQ white suit while he tweeted that, or sitting nude next to his SI swimsuit model.

  7. “Mark Sanchez knows the way to Santonio Holmes’ heart”

I’m not sure about that. But he does know the way to the hearts of high school girls. Maybe he’s finally coming out as his gay pediophilic self.

  8. Does this make Rex a midwife? Great way to toughen up the locker room. Maybe they should sign T.O. and Randy Moss and make Cris Carter the receivers coach. As a Dolphins fan who could ask for anything more?

  9. “Cookies are nice, but Holmes would probably prefer a well-thrown deep ball.”

There are so many jokes I could make about a well-thrown deep ball, but I’ll let everyone else come the to hillarious conclusion I did.

Predictable Comment. Tough to win those big games without inside information isn’t it?

  11. Things that I know Santonio Holmes likes:

    – Money.
    – Superfluous first down celebration displays when he finally brings in his first reception of the day midway through the 3rd quarter
    – Money.

I don’t know how he feels about Valentines Day.

  12. Is this guy for real? This is how an NFL QB acts playing for New York? Sending cookies to his WR. Wow! Like him or not, at least Eli is professional day in and out. Sanchez needs to grow the f*ck up. This guy can’t handle ANY negatives towards him. Go back to Cali, your a joke. I’d be embarrassed as a Jet fan. Makes you miss Pennington.

  13. A Lance Bass Reference, really?

    =============================

Hey Mark, want to hold my clipboard?

    Peyton

  14. No he didn’t… with a pink box of “shortbread” cookies for a pic. Really… Yeah, that should do wonders for the locker room chemistry. What next, and invite to the team for a pajama party at his place?

  15. More interesting will be to see what, if any, response Santonio has to this.

    These guys are a riot.

  16. Ampat’s…
Dont Worry You have The Master Of Video McDaniels Back Next Year.
Belicheat will go 16-0 with the Easy Schedule . And “The Patsies Way” Will be BACK…

Dude, relax some. It’s a JOKE. I am not a Jets fan, and most certainly not a Sanchez fan, but if a guy making a simple (thought to be a ) joke on social media is not professional, you may want to stop watching football now. Because as time goes on, I think more and more players will be posting comments, stupid or otherwise. Hell, many of them (if not most) do already. I don’t care for it either but this stuff is here to stay. And it is hardly a measure of being professional.

And Eli is a class act, but posting a joke on Twitter is not Eli’s style or personality anyway. And Eli’s silverspoon upbringing I’m sure hardedned him for life in the NFL. I am not picking on Eli, but please, its hard to compare most any QB to the way both Mannings conduct themselves, on or off the field.

Growing up or maturity might also be learning not use the F word in electronic media…oh, Sanchez didn’t do that, you did.

  18. A lot of people must be wearing kids underwear today. I find it to be funny and find it to be a little hypocritical to mock someone for an inside joke among teammates. I think the real issue is the fact that the media tends to blow things out of proportion and who knows if the two were really in a conflict.

  19. patcheaiots,

Belichick is going 16-0 with an easy schedule?

Isn’t it a little early as a jets fan to concede that the Patriots will sweep the jets AGAIN this season?

BMcN: I don’t care if it was a joke or not. I am a football fan and I don’t have to “like” that players use social media. I have no problem with that. But in Sanchez’s case, this is a guy who wants to be taken seriously as a QB as the Jets traded up to get him. No? First it’s a couples retreat, now cookies, How about playing some football and winning to back up all the talk from Jet camp? Huh? That’s what I mean. As a Jet fan how can you like this past season? losing, sulking, giving cameras the finger etc. They imploded and need to show their fans they f*cked up (yes, I used it again)and get back to work. Just as everybody and their grandmother are entitled to post their own opinions on anything. I can post what or how I want, Dude.

  23. Rexy knows that there is plenty of time for the heeling of his players’ relationships during the offseason. The two of them need to put their feet up, talk, and and stop the callused comments about one another.

  24. @bigbluelou
I really know better than to post on anything New York related. The intelligence level really struggles for you guys. I am sorry it is so hard to “just read” what is posted let alone say something that makes sense.

Lou, I said I was NOT a Jets fan. I’d give up football first. So the Jets struggles mean nothing to me. Frankly, I enjoy them. And I agree Sanchez and that whole bunch struggled and did bunches of damaging things for the Jets. The QB always gets the most credit and the most blame. There is plenty to point at beyond Sanchez also for the Jets issues.

You are still way too up tight. He can’t make a joke? Really? You must be a lot of fun. Oh well, your lack of vocabulary except for words that are single sylable and begin with F will certainly make it easy for others to follow your stimulating thoughts and ideas.

  25. @ bunkmcnulty

Well, I did “read” your response (though it was hard to get through being from NY and all) that your not a Jet fan, so that is a good thing in my book. I just think that Sanchez is immature and this proves my point.

And I’m sorry I didn’t know my grammer was going to be graded by an English teacher. H E Double Hockey Sticks.
