Wes Welker takes the high road

Patriots receiver Wes Welker has taken a lot of heat in Boston and beyond since the Super Bowl.

He hasn’t been heard from since a teary-eyed press conference following the game where he laudably took the blame for the loss, even though we feel he took a little too much blame.

Welker broke his silence Wednesday via Twitter:

“I would like to thank all of my fans for your love and support. I looked outside and the sun came out. #vacationtime,” Welker said.

The next step this offseason for Welker: Will he get a long-term deal with the Patriots? Tom Curran and I talked about whether Welker will get the franchise tag on last night’s NBC SportsTalk.
