Several of you have pointed out a report that Browns G.M. Tom Heckert has had “serious” surgery, which has kept him from attending the Scouting Combine. The information comes from WTAM radio, the team’s flagship station in Cleveland.
The Browns are sharing no details about the situation. “Tom’s personal medical issues are his private affair and not for the club to comment on,’' Browns spokesman Neal Gulkis told Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “As we said yesterday, he’s doing fine.’'
We’re told that Heckert is indeed doing well, and that he’s not in Indianapolis simply because he’s not yet able to travel.
