Donald Driver’s future with the Packers is a bit uncertain, but he’s got a side gig to keep him busy until all of that’s figured out.

Driver was announced as a member of the new cast of Dancing With the Stars on Tuesday morning, continuing a trend of past and present NFL players competing on the show. Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin, Jason Taylor, Lawrence Taylor, Kurt Warner, Jerry Rice, Chad Ochocinco, Warren Sapp and Hines Ward have all previously been on the show. Driver will try to join Smith and Ward as winners of the competition.

The Packers and Driver, who caught 37 passes in his 13th season with Green Bay, have both indicated a willingness to restructure his $5 million salary to facilitate a return to the team for the 2012 season. The new season of the show premieres on March 19th and Driver’s progression will likely determine whether he misses any of the team’s offseason workout schedule.

Driver will be competing with Martina Navratilova, Gladys Knight, Jaleel “Urkel” White and eight others on the show.
