Football players have become regular contestants on Dancing With the Stars, so it is only natural that other reality shows would look to the NFL for contestants.

One of those shows is The Bachelor, which actually has some experience with quarterbacks. Jesse Palmer was on the showcase for tearful exits and unfulfilled proposals of marriage a few years back and the guys behind the show had their eye on another signal caller who played his college ball in Gainesville. The show’s host Chris Harrison told the Hollywood Reporter that he met Tebow and asked him if he would be interested in being the star of a season of the show.

“He did say yes … but he would never do it,” Harrison said. “He has a little job called quarterback for at least another year.”

The story made its way to Denver Post Broncos beat writer Lindsay Jones and, eventually, to Tebow. Alas, we will have to make do with watching Tebow hand off footballs instead of roses a little longer. Tebow took to Twitter on Tuesday to shoot down any further discussion.

“Haha rumors can be crazy! Even though I’ve watched the show before, I’m definitely not gonna be on the Bachelor. #Jesse Palmer”

So that takes care of that. Nice use of the hashtag, though.
