Cornerback Carlos Rogers won’t be going anywhere after all.

Rogers is about to re-sign with the 49ers on a deal that will average about $7.3 million a year, Jason Cole of Yahoo Sports reports.

That comes as something of a surprise because when the 49ers brought in cornerback Perrish Cox, it appeared to be a signal that the 49ers weren’t sure if they’d be able to come to terms with Rogers. The Rams were also in pursuit of Rogers.

Instead, the 30-year-old Rogers remains in San Francisco, where he signed a year ago and started all 16 games in 2011.
