Brandon Meriweather will visit Redskins on Wednesday

Free agent safety Brandon Meriweather visited the Denver Broncos on Tuesday night, but it appears he’ll be leaving the Mile High City without a deal in place.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Meriweather has now made plans to visit the Washington Redskins. Meriweather’s Redskins visit will take place on Wednesday.

Meriweather, 28, would likely play free safety in D.C., across from strong safety Reed Doughty. The Redskins are not expected to retain LaRon Landry, and they cut O.J. Atogwe on Monday in a cap-related move.

  1. Noooooo. I would much rather go with the inexperienced Gomes then a cheap-shot artist passed on by two teams in the last year. Come on skins, do not make these past few days any tougher. Go with Gomes and Doughty (underrated when kept in the box).

  2. Another U alumni, I like it! Got to keep that tradition alive (Redskins picking up guys from the U), I’m sure he’d take a little pride in playing the position Sean Taylor played too.

  3. Don’t want this clown in DC. Also Reed Doughty better not be the starter, Dejon Gomes was looking good towards the end of the season, he is a young guy but I think he is ready.

  4. Hey Redskins fans, this guy is terrible. If he’s not taking cheap shots, he is either getting run over, or he missed tackles completely.

  5. Well – anything is a step up from nothing. And it is, after all, “about this U”.

RE Doughty – They already fired him, he just didn’t hear them…. lulz (booooooo).

No, seriously – I thought his stint ended after he lost on Star Sea..erhm… IDOL.
