Brandon Carr is the top cornerback left on the free agent market. He’s been in Dallas since Tuesday night, and longtime Cowboys writer Charean Williams reports Carr is close to signing with the club.

Per Williams, Carr’s contract is expected to be worth more than the five-year, $50 million deal agreed upon by Cortland Finnegan in St. Louis.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter confirms the lone holdup in the agreement is “a formality.”

Carr is the No. 8 overall player on the PFT Hot 100.

Stay tuned, because a signing looks to be imminent.
