The Tennessee Titans aren’t a “sleeper” in the Peyton Manning derby. They’re right in the thick of it.

According to NFL Network’s Albert Breer, Titans offensive coordinator Chris Palmer has already constructed a “book” designed to show Manning how Tennessee’s offense would operate with him calling signals.

The team also reportedly believes it has assumed a more “buttoned-down, professional approach” under second-year head coach Mike Munchak.

The Titans are convinced all this has the potential to woo the future Hall of Famer.

“I’d be completely shocked if Peyton and Munch don’t hit it off tremendously,” one Titans source told Breer. The club official pointed to the two men’s “great attention to detail and brute honesty.”

“They’re both very matter-of-fact football people,” the source observed. “Mike is Peyton Manning. They’re unbelievably similar.”

In addition, the Titans are hopeful that they can appeal to Manning’s comfort zone. Manning played college ball in nearby Knoxville, Tennessee.

Manning arrived at Titans headquarters on Wednesday. They are the third team to have received an official club-facility visit from this year’s top NFL free agent, joining the Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals.
