Raiders bringing in free agent corner Tracy Porter for a visit

Vittorio Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that free agent cornerback Tracy Porter is scheduled to visit the Oakland Raiders’ facilities “in the next couple of days.”

Porter, 25, enjoyed his best two NFL seasons in 2009 and 2010 with the Saints. New Raiders head coach Dennis Allen was New Orleans’ secondary coach at the time, and that’s a pretty strong coaching staff connection.

The Raiders signed Ronald Bartell last Friday night, but they’re not done trying to upgrade a cornerback corps short on experience after the releases of Stanford Routt and Chris Johnson.

Porter can play right cornerback and cover the slot. He is the No. 35 overall player on the PFT Hot 100.
