Peyton’s nemesis joins the Broncos

628x471

As the saying goes, if you can beat them, join them.

Or something.

Cornerback Tracy Porter, whose interception return for a touchdown iced the Saints’ 31-17 victory over the Colts in Super Bowl XLIV, has agreed to terms with Peyton Manning’s Denver Broncos, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Though the blame for the interception largely has been placed on receiver Reggie Wayne, Porter attributed the play after the game ended to “great film study.” Which is an indirect way of placing the blame on the persons responsible for ensuring that there are no obvious tendencies in the game films. Which in the case of the Colts is a backhanded slap at their on-field offensive coordinator, Peyton Manning.

At least that won’t be the most awkward subject between Porter and Peyton, given that the Super Bowl also was played at a time when the Saints maintained a pool of money that rewarded players for, among other things, injuring quarterbacks.
