Source: Packers hosted free agent Hargrove on Friday

AP

A league source tells PFT that free agent defensive lineman Anthony Hargrove visited the Green Bay Packers on Friday.

A third-round pick in the 2004 draft, Hargrove has had an up-and-down eight-year NFL career. At times, he has flashed dominant ability as an interior pass rusher. At others, he hasn’t appeared fully committed to his craft.

Hargrove, 28, is worth a look for a Green Bay defense that never found an adequate replacement for 2011 free agent loss Cullen Jenkins.

Hargrove tallied three sacks and 18 tackles in 15 games for Seattle last season.

  1. Hargrove was on the Saints 2009 Super Bowl team. I’m sure Gregg Williams will give him a good recommendation.
Look out Cutler, Stafford & McCoy! Who DAT!

  2. He didn’t play hard enough while he was in Buffalo. He is still young for a DT, he could turn his career around playing in GB.

  3. Green Bay wants his “dominant ability.”

He can leave his “not fully committed to his craft” in Seattle.

    Thank you.

Who DAT is right. Huh? When did the NFL re-align and put Cleveland in the NFCN? McCoy? I’m sure the rest of the teams would rather play Minnesota, than Cleveland.

We understand you started drinking, early, and confused the AFC and NFC north divisions.

Why sign a guy who might be suspended longer than the guy you’re trying to replace. (Mike Neal)

  5. That is a weird to leave out the bounty reference after a constant barrage of them. I’d bet money that Jawbone is almost definitely about to get some suspension with his aggressive play in late 2009. I wish him luck, though. He’s worked hard and battled some demons.

  6. Pervy,
I would wait until your vikings are reinstated into the NFL before you start making wise cracks. From where they sit right now, its going to be a very, very long time.

Gotta be an upgrade over Justin Neal

Uh, Justin Neal is the bartender at the Union Hotel in DEPere.

Mike Neal plays DT for the Packers.

If you don’t know where DePere is or haven’t heard of the Union Hotel, then you’re not an NFL fan or haven’t been east of Newark.

Mike Neal plays DE …just thought you should know if you were going to jump on somebody.

Uhhh I think DePere is WEST of Newark NJ.

  10. @ johnnyb216,,, care to elaborate more on the Packers dynasty after that last SB win,,,oh wait,,defenseless teams can’t be dynasties ,,,my bad chip

coming from the man who’s team promotes “50 years of greatness”…. 0-4 isnt that great… the walker trade wasnt that great…tice not being on time two years in a row at the draft wasn’t that great…..childress wasnt that great…. Was Les Specklers diaper great? The dome is great isnt it?

  12. Hey Pervy — how ya doing!?

Last time we heard from you, we were assured we could “write it down” or “take it to the bank” or some such nonsense that the Vikings were unstoppable!

The difference between the Packers and the Vikings, notwithstanding your delusional homerism, is the Packers have a nucleus and a personnel department, and have taken steps to correct the issues of last year (which, nevertheless, led to a 15-1 regular season record).

The Jints playoff game was totally disappointing, but truly provided a roadmap for what the team had to do in the off-season, which, it appears it is actually doing!

And, actually, what are the Vikings doing to escape a long term tenancy of the NFC cellar?

He called him Justin Neal because he is making a reference to Mike Neal being an injury prone bust like Justin Harrell was for the packers. Next time hold off on talking down to someone until you figure out whats going on.

  14. Pervy,
Nobody said anything about dynasties. I was just talking about being a pro football team with acceptable training/playing facilities. You guys have a long way to go before you catch up to ANY of the other 31 teams in the league. I’m sure if the NFL wasn’t looking for a team to play in LA you would’ve been retracted by now.

  15. @ jimmy and johnny and any pack fan who will listen,,,,,the mighty Vikings are back!!!! We are taking the North in 2012. You will bow to Viking fans once again!!!

  16. Pervy — is that based on “inside info” — you had a lot of that last time, too.

Time to take off that aluminum foil hat.

Nothing wrong with being in rebuilding mode.

The Lions provide the blue print.

    Gotta enjoy incremental progress.

Lots of room for improvement in Minnesota.

For your sake, hope Spielman and Frazier are up to the task.

  17. jimmysee ,,,,If you must know, I’m dialed into Winter Park with 2 good sources. I hear much more than most Viking fans. Of course, sometimes it is wrong,,,

  18. “Of course, sometimes it is wrong,,,

That’s the rub — gotta read the tea leaves no matter from whose cup they come.

  19. Pervy – ask your inside sources why Team Heidi signed free agent Carlson. Didn’t you tell us about 11 months ago that the TE they drafted from Notre Dame was going to immediately be the best TE in the North? Sorry, can’t remember his name, as he soon sank along with everyone else on the love… I mean longboat.

  20. Looks like they’re assigning him according to his Twitter feed. Welcome! I hope your ready to work! Were going to need more than 3 sacks from you if were gonna improve this pass rush.
