Lardarius Webb won’t be going anywhere.

Webb, the Ravens cornerback who became a restricted free agent last month, has agreed to a six-year contract to remain in Baltimore, the team announced today.

The deal has a total value of $50 million, a $10 million signing bonus and more than $20 million guaranteed, NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora reports.

“Lardarius is an important player for the Ravens and we’re very happy he will be with us for a long time,” Ravens General Manager Ozzie Newsome said in as statement. “We have a good history of completing second contracts for targeted players we want to keep for the long haul.”

The 26-year-old Webb became a starter in Baltimore in 2011 after two years as a backup and had an excellent season. The Ravens expect him to have many more excellent seasons ahead.

  1. Well considering he had 5 INTs in regular season 3 in playoffs and NO ONE in the NFL caught a TD against him last year.

And the fact AJ green went 2 for 26 yards in the game he played againts the Ravens.

To bad he cant cover AJ GREEN!!

Yeah, because -after all – the Bengals did beat the Ravens twice last year. Oh, wait…no they didn’t! Not even once….

Another great signing by Bisciotti and the Wizard of Oz. Let’s get Ray Rice done next!

  3. Cary Williams will be getting a long-term deal next! Ravens will have their top 3 corners locked up for at least next 4 years collectively.

  4. WEBBY! That extension just made my day. Webby on one side Jimmy on the other Carry on the slot…yea I’ll take that CB core anyday!

@Steelcity Uh 2 for 26 yards receiving in the one game he played them bro…so how you figure? You must of meant to say “Too bad Ike Taylor and Troy can’t cover him” cause Webby did and will again for the next 6 years!!!

  5. Stud.

The Ravens’ secondary was once their major liability. Now between Webb and Jimmy Smith, it’s a strength. Even Ed Reed is still a ballhawk, but I have a feeling he’s done after 2012.

Six more years of owning Brady. Was hoping the Bills would snag him, dammit.
At least you can admit your living through someone else’s team…good to see

  7. And to those who didn’t know (it’s brag time)Webb was the #1 CB for them last year and didn’t give up 1 single TD all year. Also, opposing QB’s who threw in his direction had a 42.0 QB rating! I’m not sure what the official definition of “Shut Down Corner” is but that’s gotta be something like it.

wow, what a dumb comment. You do know Brady is something like 6-1 against the Ravens right?

If you could connect two dots you’d know that “steelcityrapist” is a Bengals fan, not a Steeler fan.

    Laces out!

  10. I love it. All without restructuring and using the.company credit card. Take note Pittsburgh

  11. I remember a lot of talking heads saying the the ravens “reached” to take him in the 3rd round. It was a pity he hurt his acl. What u saw this year was a cb who was an excellent tackler and a really good cover guy. He may not be as good as revis, but with Webb, jimmy smith, Carey williams and danny gorrer we have taken what was a distinct weakness and turned it into a strength.

  12. Love this move! i was holding my breath that a team towards the back of the draft wouldnt trade their 1st rounder and pay him what the ravens did, their loss big time, i guess the average football fan doesnt know much about him yet but get ready to hear his name among the top cb’s in the league for years to come

You do realize that the Texans handed yer vaunted D , with Webb , their ass in the playoffs with a third string qb. Ask the Wizard why you are one of the oldest teams in the league and have lost much more than you’ve gained this year AND continue to sh*t on your running back. Let me know what he says. This raven fan bravado is why the rest of the league hates your team.

  14. @deathtoromo – as of we really gave a fiddlers fart about what you or the rest of the NFL thinks. Last time I checked the raven beat the texans in the playoffs. You play with what u got. Don’t whine about injuries. It makes u look even more petulant than u already are.

  15. @deathtoromo (Cool name by the way!) My favorite Romo-diss = Romo rhymes with _________!

Anyway, I wouldn’t exactly say your O handed the Ravens D their ass. If you recall, they lost a regular season and a playoff game to the Ravens. I don’t see how 0-2 is exactly handing someone their ass. And, the Ravens knew what they had to do to win the game. They didn’t need to be very exotic or aggressive, they just went out and played vanilla football & that was good enough to survive & advance.

When your team goes 0-2 vs another team……your best bet is to not talk too much smack! Makes you appear foolish. Although, I’m guessing genetics did that for you as well.

  16. @deathtoromo
I don’t really think its fair to talk crap when your team has made the playoffs once in their history. I don’t think it’s fair to say the whole league hates us, who knows the whole league could hate you guys if you ever made it to the playoffs. Oh btw your third stringer dominated us with his 3 ints 2 of which were by lardarius.

  17. webb used to be a scrub who couldnt cover anybody…this season his role changed from off the bench to starter against the #1 receiver, and played like a lockdown corner. im happy that a guy like lar dar gets a long term deal

  18. Forget the cover skills (which are beastly btw), how many times did we see this little bundle of energy fly to the ball carrier and make sure tackles? How many times did he catch RBs in the backfield?

Re-signing him was a no brainer!

  19. Everyone else has already picked apart most of deathtoromo’s completely uninformed statement, but allow me to finish off the ill-informed opinion. The Ravens are one of theoldest teams in the league yet their current roster features

  20. Since most of deathtoromo’s totally ill-informed opinion has already been picked apart, allow me to finish by questioning how the Ravens are one of the oldest teams in the league when they currently have a grand total of 7 players under contract who are 30 or older: Ayanbadejo, Birk, Boldin, Leach, Lewis, McKinnie, and Reed (R. Williams on the reserve/retired list and UFA Gurode don’t count). So yeah, keep making yourself look like an idiot, pal, especially when the topic of this whole discussion picked off that 3rd stringer twice in the game you speal of.
