Five years of playing running back for the Packers will apparently be it for Ryan Grant.

Grant’s agent, Alan Herman, told the Green Bay Press-Gazette that Grant that there’s a good chance another team will sign Grant before next week’s NFL draft.

“There’s some things actually going on with Ryan but not with Green Bay,” Herman said. “That’s a strong possibility, more than a strong possibility. It could be as early as next week.”

Grant split the running back duties with James Starks last season and finished with 134 carries for 559 yards.

  1. Welcome to Detroit. We will allow you to run it down your former teams throat twice a year.

  2. Running back are becoming like greyhounds. Rode hard then put down after a few years.

  3. It’s time for the Pack to move on. Will never forget the Snowbowl in 07 when Grant ran all over the Seahawks at Lambeau. Hopefully he gets on a team where he can contribute.

Bro did you see him run the ball last season, it was pathetic, he can’t break a tackle. As a packers fan from north jersey its depressing because I watched him play at Don Bosco but he’s not what he used to be.

  5. Green Bay is a Passing team, no RB is going to get the touches to be a star, it is Aaron Rodgers Rodeo and the running game is there just to keep the defense honest.

  6. Would love to see Grant stay (I don’t feel Starks or Grant can be full-time backs, but together they provided an effective running game) but that’s not how the free agency game is played.

Best of luck to Grant wherever he goes.

  7. Thank God.

Finally. Long overdue. Grant is about as predictable as a NASCAR fan having a drinking problem.

Get a pass catching back to compliment Starks.

LaMichael James or Isaiah Pead in the 3rd.

I like James, but I think Pead could become the better pro.

  8. thats why say they dont get hurt next man will take your spot. not easy but it happens

  9. Why would Green Bay not be interested in a washed up back that cant stay healthy or hold on to the rock?

Welcome to Detroit. We will allow you to run it down your former teams throat twice a year. —————————————————————————————————————————————————— I like grant and hope him the best. but even if the lions were able to get a back like foster your coach is a pathetic crybaby who will never win the big game.

  11. With Saine & Alex Green coming up to compliment Starks, our Runningback trio is pretty solid, no Superstars, but guys that can allow Rodgers to hit up some Big Play Action Passes.

Grant could probably help out in Atlanta or for the Jets.

  12. Dear Ryan Grant…I and #PackerNation will surely miss you…we thank you for all the memories and amazing seasons you gave us…Ryan you will not be forgotten in TitleTown U.S.A! God Bless You on your new journey-Love Kyanna
