When the NFL decided to suspend defensive lineman Ryan McBean six games for violating the policy against performance-enhancing substances, he immediately promised a lawsuit that would argue that the league improperly handled the testing. But now that lawsuit has been dropped.

McBean has settled his lawsuit and agreed to a three-game suspension, the Denver Post reports. McBean, who played for the Broncos last year, signed a free-agent contract with the Ravens on Monday after the settlement was reached.

Broncos linebacker D.J. Williams, who was also suspended six games and also responded with a lawsuit, has not settled and will continue his legal fight. Broncos tight end Virgil Green was suspended four games at the same time as McBean and Williams, but Green did not file suit.

McBean started 21 games for the Broncos over the last three years. He was a restricted free agent entering the offseason, but the Broncos rescinded his tender offer last month, making him an unrestricted free agent.
