Count the Packers among the teams that have started signing their draft picks.

The agent for safety Jerron McMillian, a fourth-round pick, told Rob Demovsky of the Green Bay Press-Gazette that his client has agreed to terms on a contract with the Packers. As will all players drafted outside the first round, McMillian will sign a four-year contract to kick off his professional career.

McMillian didn’t get much publicity while playing for Maine, but he started generating more interest when he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.35 seconds at his pro day. Green Bay’s situation at safety is in some flux thanks to the release of Nick Collins and the discussion about moving Charles Woodson off of corner to help fill the void. McMillian should have a chance to prove he’s worth playing time as a rookie and will likely be a contributor on special teams as well.

The Packers expect to have all eight of their draft picks signed by the start of this weekend’s rookie minicamp.
