The Patriots officially announced the signing of running back Joseph Addai on Thursday and used the occasion as a chance to announce the signing of a group of undrafted rookie free agents as well.

Seven players signed with the Patriots. They will join the team’s seven draft picks and tryout players at this weekend’s rookie minicamp.

The players are Ole Miss running back Brandon Bolden, Miami defensive lineman Marcus Forston, Rutgers defensive lineman Justin Francis, Iowa tight end Brad Herman, Kentucky wide receiver Matt Roark, South Florida offensive lineman Jeremiah Warren and Iowa offensive lineman Markus Zusevics.

Bolden ranks second all-time in touchdowns at Ole Miss, but tallied just four of his 27 career scores last season. Roark’s brightest college moment actually came as a quarterback when injuries forced him into action for Kentucky’s game with Tennessee. Roark led the Wildcats to a 10-7 win, their first over the Volunteers since 1984.

Roark was coached in high school and college by Tee Martin, who led Tennesse to a national title in his playing days. That led to him getting drafted ahead of Tom Brady, who Roark hopes to be catching passes from sometime soon.
