The Vikings are the latest team to start signing draft picks and they decided to start at the end.

Seventh-round pick Trevor Guyton tweeted out word that he has signed his four-year contract with the team, including a photo of the pen he used to do the signing. Jeremy Fowler of the Pioneer Press also reports that linebacker Audie Cole, also drafted in the seventh round, has reached agreement on a deal.

Guyton played all over the defensive line at Cal, and it’s unclear exactly what role he’ll be expected to play in Minnesota. He could provide the team with some pass rushing push inside as part of the team’s defensive line rotation, but he’ll probably get a look in a variety of roles during workouts and camp. Cole played middle linebacker for N.C. State in 2011, but he’s likely to wind up on the weak side in Minnesota. Regardless of what role the Vikings see for him on defense, his route to making the team will come on special teams.

Signing Guyton and Cole leaves the Vikings with eight more draft picks to get under contract.
