Colts add George Foster

nfl_g_cherilus_580

With training camps still two months away, NFL continue continue to churn the lower reaches of their 90-man offseason rosters.

The Colts have made a move on Tuesday afternoon, adding veteran offensive tackle George Foster. To make room for Foster, the Colts waived fullback Ryan Mahaffey.

Foster has played for the Broncos and Lions, spending four seasons in Denver and two in Detroit. He has played for the Browns in 2009 and the Saints in 2011.

In 2010, Foster landed in the UFL, with the Omaha Nighthawks.

Look for teams to continue to cut and sign and cut and sign players from the last five or 10 spots on the roster. Eventually, each team will be required to drop from 90 to 53. And thus most if not all of the guys who get signed between now and late July will be on the outside looking in the next time Metta World Peace wishes us all a Happy Labor Day.
