NFL scuttles Andre Branch contract

The Jaguars waited a while to start signing rookie draft picks.  And the first contract inked by one of their selections from late April has been scrapped by the league office.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the NFL disapproved on Friday the contract signed earlier in the week by Jacksonville’s second-round selection, defensive end Andre Branch.

The move comes less than a year after a pair of Jaguars rookie deals were disapproved.

Typically, the error is cured quickly and easily.

The Jaguars also have signed sixth-round cornerback Mike Harris.  His contract hasn’t been disapproved.

  1. Florio must be tired. He forget to link this to how the contract error means the Jags can’t sell tickets and will be relocating shortly.

  2. The contract had him playing for the Los Angles Jaguars and was deemed premature by the league.

  3. And thus ends the Jaguars’ plan to sell out the stadium by paying their players with tickets instead of cash.
