The good news is that Ronnie Brown’s value hasn’t gone down much in the last year. The bad news is that it hasn’t gone up much, either.

A season after signing a one-year, $1 million deal with the Eagles, a league source tells PFT that Brown’s one-year deal with the Chargers is worth, yes, $1 million.

Specifically, Brown received a $75,000 signing bonus. He’s also due to receive a $100,000 roster bonus and a base salary of $825,000.

The trigger for the roster bonus isn’t known; it could be that he gets the money if he makes it onto the 53-man roster.

Last year, Brown also was eligible to receive a small package of incentives. This year, he’s not.

And while on the surface it looks like a stunning fall for the second overall pick in the 2005 draft, it’s more evidence that the market for running backs on the wrong side of 30 ain’t what it used to be.
