Twitter hacker launches Revis trade hoax

It’s the Fourth of July, one of the slowest days on the NFL calendar.

And it nearly got a lot more hectic.

Someone hacked the Twitter account of Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis and posted that the All-Pro defender has been traded.

Revis has since reclaimed the reins, explaining that he remains a member of the Jets.

Though a holiday trade would be a shocker, it’s not unprecedented. For example, the Redskins traded for Donovan McNabb on Easter Sunday in 2010. And now the sight of Reese’s peanut butter eggs makes Mike Shanahan nauseous.
