Bills center Eric Wood was lost for the season with a torn ACL on November 13, but he says any problems with his knee are long behind him.

I feel great. I’m in great shape,” Wood told the Buffalo News. “Obviously I haven’t tested it in any practice or anything, but a lot of that is just being cautious. We don’t want to do anything now that’ll set me back. The goal is to be back for the first game. I trust the guys in the training room to get me back to that.”

Wood said he expects to be at full speed when training camp opens.

“I’ve done full speed running and full speed drills on my own, so when I do get going, it won’t be like I’m out there working at 80 percent, hopefully I’ll be working at 100 percent,” he said.

Wood’s injury in the ninth game was one of many things that went wrong for the Bills in the second half of the 2011 season. Getting him back and healthy is one of the many reasons there’s optimism in Buffalo this year.
