Are there eight teams in the NFL better than the Saints?

Maybe not.

But none of the rest of them have the degree of uncertainty New Orleans does, which is why they’re in the ninth spot in our Preseason Power Rankings.

Sean Payton’s that good of a coach, and without him, there’s no telling where the Saints will land, considering their interim coach is facing a suspension as well (the first six games for Joe Vitt).

Coaches league-wide are probably secretly hoping the Saints fail this year, if only for their own future contract negotiations.

But a region which has rallied around their team through natural disasters hopes that keeping quarterback Drew Brees happy is enough to help them weather the storm.

Take a look at our full preview here, and tell us if you think we’ve overrated or undervalued them going into this season.
