A lawsuit for assault has been filed in Michigan. The good news is that it doesn’t involve any member of the Lions.
Cardinals defensive end Ronald Talley, a Detroit native, has been sued this week for allegedly smashing a champagne bottle over the head of 30-year-old Robert Ford on March 26, according to the Detroit News. The alleged injuries include glass shards piercing Ford’s skull. He needed 13 staples to close the wound.
The lawsuit, which joins as defendants the recently-closed bar where the incident occurred and five bouncers, claims that Talley was visibly intoxicated, but that he was still being served alcohol.
Ford claims that the bouncers dragged him out of the bar, where he was “left to die in the alley.”
The bar in question closed “voluntarily” on July 16, after a shooting.
Talley, an undrafted free agent in 2010, appeared in six games last season. He played college football at Delaware.
