Raiders sign a draft pick just in time for camp

The Raiders report for training camp in Napa on Sunday and they moved a step closer to having all of their players ready to report on Friday.

Albert Breer of NFL.com reports that the team has agreed to terms on a four-year deal with guard Tony Bergstrom. Bergstrom was the 95th overall selection and the first Raider selection of the process after they traded previous picks or used them in the Supplemental Draft to take quarterback Terrelle Pryor.

Bergstrom played tackle at Utah and the Raiders used him there during part of the spring, but it looks like he’ll be heading for a camp battle with incumbent left guard Cooper Carlisle. Bergstrom will have to learn a new position and a new scheme, which would probably leave him at a bigger disadvantage if Carlisle were more imposing competition.

With Bergstrom signed, fifth-round wide receiver Juron Criner is the team’s final unsigned draft pick. Criner’s agent told Vittorio Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle that there was no reason for concern about Criner being unsigned, but also said that there were no guarantees his deal would be done in time for the first practice of camp on Monday.
