My quick look at the Seahawks’ roster on Monday ended up being too quick. Of the numbers from 10 through 19 and 80 through 89, it appeared that only 84 was available.
I was wr-wr-wr-wr-mistaken.
As it turns out, No. 10 also is available. And the number made famous by Jim Zorn will now be worn by Terrell Owens.
Of course, before any Seahawks fans plunk down some greenbacks to put a Seahawks partially green jersey on their backs with Owens’ name and number, it would be wise to wait for T.O. to make the 53-man roster.
UPDATE 11:21 a.m. ET: For those asking, Zorn’s number isn’t retired. The only retired numbers in Seattle are 12 (for the “12th man”), 71 (for Walter Jones), and 80 (for Steve Largent). Several years ago, Largent allowed Hall of Famer Jerry Rice to wear No. 80.
