Giants receiver Victor Cruz said he thought Jets safety LaRon Landry “got a pretty good lick on me” in last weekend’s preseason game. The league office says it was a legal lick.
Landry told reporters today that he did not receive the dreaded FedEx letter that is sent to players if they’re fined by the league office for the hard hit on the pass to Cruz over the middle.
“No FedEx, baby,” Landry said, via Jenny Vrentas of the Star-Ledger. “Don’t wish that upon me.”
Some observers thought Landry led with his head and should have been flagged, but Cruz said he didn’t have a problem with Landry’s hit. The league office didn’t either.
