That competition has now been settled, as Josh Brown was told this morning he was released, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.
“Best of luck to the 2012 Jets...” Brown tweeted. “Thanks for one of the most memorable camps in 10 yrs. GREAT GROUP OF GUYS!!”
That means Nick Folk will keep his job, and be responsible for all the points the Jets put on the board, since they haven’t scored a touchdown yet this preseason.
