Vito Stellino of the Florida Times Union is on top of cut-down day in Jacksonville. Stellino reports that the Jaguars have waived two players -- tight end Colin Cloherty and quarterback Jordan Palmer -- and has also tracked down several more roster moves via Jaguars players’ Twitter accounts.

In addition to Palmer and Cloherty, the Jags have cut running back Richard Murphy, offensive tackles Will Robinson and Lee Barbiasz, defensive back Rod Issac, linebacker J.K. Schaffer, cornerback Trumaine McBride, and defensive end Odrick Ray.

Palmer’s release leaves Chad Henne as the only backup to quarterback Blaine Gabbert. The Jaguars may monitor the waiver wire over the next several hours in order to unearth a viable third-string signal caller.
