The good news for NFL teams is that there’s a new tweak to the IR rules. The bad news for NFL teams is that there’s a new tweak to the IR rules.

Apart from the odd 2012-only glitch that requires players previously placed on injured reserve to be returned to the 53-man roster for four days before they can be placed on the new “designated for return” injured reserve category, having the ability to bring back one player -- and only one player -- later in the season raises all sorts of strategic questions.

We took a look at some of them during Friday’s PFT Live. I could write them up here, but then you wouldn’t watch.

You probably won’t watch anyway, but at least I tried.
