The Panthers made a move Sunday morning to address a thin defensive tackle position, signing veteran Dwan Edwards.

To make room for him on the roster, they waived Terrell McClain, their third-round pick a year ago (65th overall).

Edwards was just cut by Buffalo, but he could end up starting next to Ron Edwards quickly. He’s not a flashy player, but a solid pro, with 45 starts in his career.

The Panthers gave up quickly on McClain, who showed flashes of pass-rush ability, but never on a consistent basis.
