The guy who makes the name plates for the Rams jerseys is very happy tonight.

Gone from the roster are guard Quinn Ojinnaka and tight end Michael Hoomanawanui.

They were bumped off the 53-man roster for tackle Ty Nsekhe (maybe the guy who makes the name plates for the Rams jerseys should leave the cork in the champagne) and guard Shelley Smith. Nsekhe was claimed off waivers from the Colts, and Smith had been waived by the Texans.

Hoomanawanui, a fifth-round pick of the Rams in 2010, was listed as the third-string tight end. Ojinnaka, according to the most recent depth chart on the team’s website, was the starting left guard.

And so the 32-team 53-man roster churn will continue -- especially if Browns coach Pat Shurmur decides to bring Hoomanawanui to Cleveland, given that Shurmur was the offensive coordinator in St. Louis when Hoomanawanui scored three touchdowns in eight games.
