Saint put Vilma on PUP list

He’s been reinstated, but he won’t be playing.

Despite a Sunday report that linebacker Jonathan Vilma could play in a week or two, the Saints have placed Vilma on the Physically Unable to Perform List. It means that he’ll miss at least the first six weeks of the season.

The move comes at a time when his one-year suspension has been vacated, and Vilma now awaits a new suspension from Commissioner Roger Goodell.

Regardless of what happens at 345 Park Avenue, we won’t see Vilma for at least the first six weeks of the 2012 season.
