Jay Ratliff, Phil Costa out for Cowboys

The Cowboys will have to go it without defensive tackle Jay Ratliff again this week.

Ratliff will miss a second straight game because of an ankle injury, leaving the Cowboys without their starting nose tackle when they roll into Seattle for a date with the Seahawks. Josh Brent will start in Ratliff’s place, just as he did against the Giants in Week One.

“He’s making progress. He’s getting better every day and trying to do more and more,” coach Jason Garrett said, via the Dallas Morning News. “He’s done a real good job with his treatment and his rehab. We’re hopeful as it goes he’ll get some work in practice and be back sooner rather than later.”

The Cowboys will also be without center Phil Costa, who left the win over the Giants with a back injury. Costa has been bothered by back problems since reporting to camp and he didn’t last long in the opener before he was forced out of the game. Ryan Cook replaced Costa last week and he will start in Costa’s place against the Seahawks.
