The Steelers have one of the best home-field advantages in the league.
And now they’re going to have more of it.
After a long negotiation between the team and local politicians, they’ve agreed on a deal to finance the construction of 3,000 new seats at Heinz Field, according to Mark Belko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Fans will feel a small pinch, with an extra $1 surcharge on Steelers tickets, and a $2 to $3 bump in parking in nearby lots.
If a deal can be finalized soon, construction could start after the season, allowing the new seats and an added scoreboard to be in place for the start of next season.
