Giants suspect MCL, not ACL, injury for Diehl

Tampa Bay Buccaneers v New York Giants

Giants offensive lineman David Diehl, who left Sunday’s game against the Bucs with a knee injury, has had an MRI. The results, however, aren’t known yet because no doctor was available to read the film.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, it’s feared that Diehl has an MCL injury only. Often, a torn/sprained MCL does not require surgery, since the rope-like ligament heals on its own with rest.

The final answer won’t be known until the MRI results are interpreted. So tune in Monday.

As if you otherwise wouldn’t have.
