The extra time off provided by playing last Thursday against the Bears seems to have paid off for a couple of injured Packers.

Wide receiver Greg Jennings and running back James Starks are expected to be back practicing with the team after missing the Bears game with injuries. Jennings has been out with a groin injury, but coach Mike McCarthy said that he should be at least a limited participant as the team gets back to work preparing for the Seahawks. Assuming he’s ready to go, there will be a much lower chance of another Aaron Rodgers blow up at James Jones this week.

Starks has been out for more than a month because of turf toe, but he did start doing some work at practice last week. McCarthy said Tuesday that there’s still a role for Starks on the team, but thinks it is going to take him some time before he’s physically ready to claim it.

“Everybody on our football team has a role,” McCarthy said, via the Green Bay Press-Gazette. “It’ll be good to get him back out there, but turf toe is an injury, I don’t think you just jump up out of bed one day and you’re OK. There will be some transition time for him to come back. As far as his role, that’s really determined during the week. Our running back position is probably as competitive as its ever been since I’ve been here. I feel really good about that group, top to bottom.”

The Packers offense didn’t look in sync against the Bears and the team has to hope that its health will also improve this week.
