Amid talk that Bears quarterback Jay Cutler’s sideline blowup at left tackle J’Marcus Webb could split divide the Chicago locker room, Bears receiver Brandon Marshall says everyone should accept Cutler for who he is.

Marshall, a close friend of Cutler’s since their days together in Denver, told reporters today Cutler is a good guy with a fiery approach to the game, and Cutler doesn’t need to change.

“What people need to understand is everyone’s different,” Marshall said. “Jay’s who he is. Whenever you get outside of yourself, I think that’s when you create problems. You have to be who you are. So when Jay is not fiery, that’s when I’m gonna have a problem. I’m gonna want to play with a different quarterback.”

Marshall said the reason Cutler was upset on the sideline during the Bears’ Thursday night loss to the Packers is that Cutler is passionate about the game and wants to win.

“That’s the guy I want to play for,” Marshall said of Cutler. “We have to be productive. We have to make sure we’re communicating the right way. I think Jay is learning how to communicate with different guys. The things that go on in our locker room, we try to keep in house.”

Unfortunately, Cutler didn’t keep his criticisms of Webb in house. He screamed at him on the sideline for all to see.
