Bills running back C.J. Spiller has had a stellar first two games of the 2012 season. But the powers-that-be at 345 Park Avenue has concluded that Reggie Bush had a stronger Week Two.

Bush is the AFC offensive player of the week.

He racked up 172 yards on 26 carries, including a pair of touchdowns, against the Raiders. It’s the highest rushing total for any player so far this season. Bush’s 197 yards from scrimmage also are the highest for any player so far this year.

Bush, who has said he aims to be the NFL’s rushing leader, is currently No. 2 behind Spiller, who has 292 yards on only 29 carries. Bush has racked up more than 100 yards from scrimmage in six straight games.

Spiller was at least nominated, along with Colts receiver Donnie Avery (nine catches, 111 yards), Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton (318 passing yards and three touchdowns), Browns running back Trent Richardson (109 yards rushing and two total touchdowns), Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (275 passing yards and two touchdowns), Chargers tight end Dante Rosario (three receiving touchdowns), Texans running back Ben Tate (74 rushing yards and two touchdowns), and Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden (322 passing yards and two touchdowns).
