When checking the websites of the various NFL teams, it’s common to type in to the browser the nickname only, without the city/state. But not every NFL team has purchased the shorthand version of the team’s URL.
The Cowboys haven’t. In 2007, they tried. But after they realized that their intended bid of $275 was actually $275,000, they passed.
And so, when periodically typing Cowboys.com over the past few years, I’d end up at a placeholder site that never had been filled.
