At this rate, fans in San Diego might be relieved the game’s blacked out.
The Falcons are dominating the Chargers, and took a 13-0 lead just before halftime.
Matt Ryan’s a clean 19-of-26 for 180 yards and two touchdowns, hitting Tony Gonzalez for the second.
The Chargers appeared to be in position for a go-ahead score after Ryan’s first, but running back Ryan Mathews fumbled in the shadow of the goal line, wasting an opportunity. It’s Mathews’ first game-action since a broken collarbone in the preseason.
That set up a 17-play, 96-yard touchdown drive, which established how good this Falcons offense looks. Michael Turner’s no longer a force in the run game, but Ryan is playing his efficient best, so they don’t need him the way they used to.
Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones left the game after the first snap with a hand injury, but has returned.
