Kurt Warner: RG3, Tannehill both outplaying Luck

Andrew Luck Pic

Five rookie quarterbacks started in Week One this season. It’s Week Three, and all three are still in their respective starting lineups. None of them have been benched yet.

That’s not bad. But who’s been the best?

NFL Network’s Kurt Warner stated on GameDay Morning Sunday that he believes Robert Griffin III of the Redskins has been head-and-shoulders above the field.

“I think we all know RG3 has come out of the blocks faster than anybody,” Warner said.

Perhaps more interestingly, Warner believes Dolphins rookie Ryan Tannehill has been outplaying No. 1 overall pick Andrew Luck through two games.

“I know Andrew Luck was the No. 1 pick overall, but I’ve been most impressed by Ryan Tannehill,” said Warner. “From a consistency standpoint, I believe [Tannehill] has done the best job outside of RG3. May not have the ‘wow’ factor that Andrew Luck and maybe Russell Wilson have had, but he’s been the most consistent. And outside of a couple tipped passes that were intercepted, I think he’s done a really good job for Miami.”

It’s also worth noting that Tannehill has dealt with inferior supporting casts to both Griffin and Luck. So far, at least, it looks like the Dolphins have a keeper at quarterback.
