Gailey says there’s a chance he has both Jackson and Spiller

Despite predictions that were dire on both fronts, Bills coach Chan Gailey said there’s a chance both Fred Jackson (knee) and C.J. Spiller (shoulder) play Sunday against New England.

I think they both have a chance, a legitimate chance,” Gailey said, via Mark Gaughan of the Buffalo News.

Both were somewhat limited in Friday’s practice, but there seemed to be more optimism about Jackson’s status.

“It got better as the day went on today, so that’s always good,” Jackson said. “It felt good yesterday, too, after practice. Excited to see what happens on Sunday.”

Gailey admitted he wouldn’t have expected earlier this week that Spiller would be as far along as he is.

“Not a chance,” Gailey said. “It was great to get Spiller back because it keeps our Wildcat stuff alive, so that’s good.”

Getting one back would be a bonus for the 2-1 Bills, having both would be a huge boost.

  1. The Bills are going to need every playmaker they have out on the field Sunday. A 90% Jackson and a 85% Spiller is better than seeing Choice and White try to rip up the Patriot Defense. The only advantage we have is the 12th man, good Ole’ Ralph Wilson Stadium loud and proud! Go Bills!!!!

  2. Todd Aiken just came out and echoed Gailey’s assessment that there is a “legitimate ” chance of the two Rbs suiting up this Sunday .
Stated something about their bodies natural defense mechanism rejecting Patriot tacklers .
