Tedy Bruschi: Patriots have a long way to go, will lose to Bills

After the Patriots won in Week One, most people were declaring them the best team in the league. After they lost in Week Two, most people were willing to write that off as a fluke. After they lost in Week Three, some people are jumping off the bandwagon.

A loss to the Bills in Week Four would be a real sign that the Patriots have an uphill battle in the AFC East, and former Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi thinks that’s exactly what’s going to happen. Bruschi, who’s now an analyst for ESPN, says that he sees the Bills winning on Sunday.

Bruschi adds that if people think the Patriots are going to be just fine despite their 1-2 start, Patriots coach Bill Belichick would probably ask, “Based on what?” Belichick, according to Bruschi, subscribes to the theory that if your record says you’re a 1-2 team, then you can’t just assume that you’re going to start playing winning football soon.

Well, based on what I’ve seen from the Patriots the past two weeks, they have a long way to go,” Bruschi says. “Going into Orchard Park to play a solid Bills team might be too much for them.”

If the Bills are too much for the Patriots on Sunday, the next question is whether a two-game deficit in the standings will be too much for the Patriots to overcome.
