The Eagles have announced that cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha was taken to Wills Eye Hospital for examination.

They’re calling his return doubtful, though he has returned to the sidelines in uniform.

Asomugha was poked in the eye by Giants wide receiver Ramses Barden, and has been replaced by Brandon Hughes.

UPDATE 10:42 p.m. ET: The Eagles, who first announced Asomugha had been taken to the hospital, have since taken it back. He apparently didn’t.
